CGN and AERIAL sign Technical Cooperation MOU

CGN and AERIAL Corporation of France signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Technical Cooperation relating to the application of Nuclear Technologies.

On April 3, during the 19th International Meeting on Radiation Processing (IMRP) held in Strasbourg, France, CGNNT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AERIAL CRT (Centre de Ressources Technologiques) in France. The two parties will cooperate to develop the application of nuclear technology in areas such as fruit preservation, food irradiation and and dose detection. The cooperation project will include demonstrating the innovative application opportunities for electron beam technology in agriculture and related projects in China.

Mr Kenneth Hsiao, General Manager of CGN Dasheng and Alain Strasser, General Manager of AERIAL Company, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with witnesses Paul Wynne, Chairman of the International Irradiation Association (IIA) and Mr Hu Dongming, General Manager of CGNNT.

CGNNT is the leading nuclear technology application enterprise in China. It has an extensive network of irradiation centres for the application of nuclear technologies using  electron accelerators. AERIAL is a technical resource center with more than 30 years of experience in innovation and the application of irradiation processing technology. AERIAL is an authorized food irradiation centre of IAEA and has participated in the formulation of several EU food irradiation standards. The cooperation between the CGNNT and AERIAL will help to promote the rapid implementation of CGN technology projects which are designed to alleviate poverty and to preserve fruit by applying science and technology. The cooperation project will also help to develop Chinese and the international market and will provide impetus for the further development of nuclear technology research and industrial applications.
